Ethereum Community Meetup Series
This RFP invites proposals to organize and sustain recurring Ethereum community meetups around the world. The goal is to strengthen local communities, foster in-person collaboration, and create welcoming spaces where builders, researchers, and educators can share knowledge and ideas related to Ethereum. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, and we expect to support multiple grantees across different regions. We are seeking existing or emerging local communities that can commit to organizing a series of open, inclusive, and educational events focused on Ethereum development, research, or ecosystem topics. Events should be non-commercial and open to participation for both new and existing community members.

Ecosystem Need
Local communities are one of the strongest drivers of long-term ecosystem health and education. Regular, community-led meetups help sustain engagement, lower entry barriers for newcomers, and connect regional contributors to the broader Ethereum ecosystem. Supporting these groups can multiply impact far beyond single events.
Hard Requirements
- Clear plan for recurring events (preferably monthly) - Non-commercial, open participation model - Transparent use of funds (venue, materials, accessibility, etc.) - Public reporting or documentation at least quarterly - Clear governance structure and transparent organizing team
Soft Requirements
- Collaboration with local projects, universities, or other communities - Identifying and engaging potential partners or sponsors - Outreach to onboard new members and strengthen inclusivity - Focus on education, Ethereum research, or open-source collaboration - Maintaining an online community or communication channel - Long-term sustainability plan beyond EF funding
